OPENED SINCE 12th AUGUST, 2019
All NEW PATIENT CONSULTS:
Due to an increasing number of No-Shows for initial consultations, we have had to make the decision to implement a PAY WHEN BOOKING policy for ALL new clients. This means, when you call to make your first appointment , you will be requested to make the full payment before we can confirm your booking.
Unfortunately, when people don't call to cancel or don't show for their appointments, 3 people are greatly impacted; 1) the client who will be unable to book again without paying a cancellation fee, 2) another client who could have been offered the allocated timeslot and 3) our psychologist who spent time preparing the session and who loses a whole hour of their day.
As such, we have regretably had no choice but to implement this policy which allows you to receive a FULL REFUND of your fee if you call to cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
EXISTING CLIENT APPOINTMENTS:
Unfortunately, due to an increasing number of no-shows, we are now requiring all exisiting clients to pay for their sessions the day before their appointment.
On the eve of your appointment, our receptionist will give you a reminder call and take your payment at the same time.
We appreciate your understanding of this new process.
UPDATE regarding your upcoming appointment/s:
Healthwise are now BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL - this means all face to face appointments in the office have resumed with all clinicians. If you choose to have your session via Zoom or Phone, this can still be organised for you. Simply call our mobile office on 0421 758 448 to confirm.
BULK BILLING UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2020 -
Bulk Billing is now available for ANYONE experiencing financial distress.
The sessions will be with our Clinical Psychologist and will be SHORT SESSIONS under the bulk billing arrangement (30 minutes).
Please call to discuss your clinical suitability for this service option.
Please note - these sessions are TELEHEALTH or TELEPHONE sessions as per the update (below).
Previous advice about our fee increase has been reinstated.
Healthwise Qld will be increasing their fees to align with the National Fee Schedule. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) publishes a recommended schedule of fees as a guide for psychologists providing private psychology services. The previous Recommended Schedule of Fees published by the APS is $251 for a 46 minute consultation.
Unfortunately, Medicare will not rebate provisional psychologists. If you wish to continue seeing your Provisional Psychologist, you will be required to pay a fee of $75 from July 1.
We are hoping to find alternate funding options to support our clients currently booked with any of our Provisionals (Michael, Emma and Sharon). We will keep you updated!
If you can not afford this fee, please advise us ASAP so we can discuss your options and ensure you are not disadvantaged because of an inabilty to pay.
We appreciate this is quite confusing for a lot of our clients - please feel free to give us a call and we will happily explain the situation and accomodate you as best we can.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.
