Please be advised that from July 1, 2020, Healthwise Qld will be increasing their fees to align with the National Fee Schedule. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) publishes a recommended schedule of fees as a guide for psychologists providing private psychology services. The previous Recommended Schedule of Fees published by the APS is $251 for a 46 minute consultation - (Healthwise will increase to $246.50 - still below the schedule)
From our opening date in August 2019, we have operated well under the standard fee to ensure all clients have appropriate access to mental health services. Whilst we are now needing to increase our fees, we are also seeking alernate funding sources to ensure no one is ever denied services due to financial reasons. If you are struggling with fees we urge you to talk to us as your wellbeing is our highest priority.
Therefore, Clinical and Neuro Psychology will incur a standard fee of $246.50 per session. As Medicare will rebate you $126.50, this means your out-of-pocket expense will increase to $120.
Our provisinal psychologists (who are all individually chosen for their skills, knowledge and commitment to our patients) will incur a standard fee of $80 per session. Unfortunately, Medicare will not rebate provisional psychologists, meaning this is the 'total fee' payable for provisional services.
Healthwise Q'ld is currently explanding (thanks to our wonderfully supportive Wide Bay community). We have new staff joining our team and we are currently seeking a bigger and better office (maybe a second site) - so stay tuned : )
Our Provisional Psychologists are busy improving their skills administering, scoring and interpreting common Intelligence tests (sometimes called 'IQ tests').
All Provisionals are under the guidance and supervision of a senior clinical psychologist with registration as a clinical supervisor by AHPRA.
So our Provisionals can continue their learning in intelligence testing, we are currently offering HUGE savings on psychometric testing.
This offer is only available until the end of March so get in early - Total cost for 8 hours of scheduled time, testing, scoring, interpreting and full report to keep is $550 (GST included)
** Psychometrics can not be rebated under Medicare**
We are a new practice located in the heart of Bundaberg. We have a professional and skilled team of mental health practitioners, from clinical psychologists to counsellors - all who share a passion for the wellbeing of people in our community. As a new practice we have shorter wait times and various services from psychological interventions, psychometrics (cognitive testing), NDIS, WorkCover, DVA and EAP. With our staff bringing their unique expertise in areas such as child and youth, drug and alcohol, older person's mental health, pain management, relationship and parenting, biofeedback, trauma and attachment, severe and persistent mental health issues, low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy, autism and behaviour management - there will always be a service individually tailored for your needs.
To access our services please give us a call on (07) 4198 3143 or speak to your GP about a mental health care plan (this allows you to receive a rebate from Medicare).
Our team is made up of general and/or provisional psychologists, mental health specialists, counsellors and lead by a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience in the mental health field. You can be assured that your psychologist is not only appropriately qualified but also registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
We aim to deliver the most professional and individualised therapy for you and to ensure that your wellbeing is our highest priority.
Feel free to give us a call to speak about the different services we offer so we can get you on the path to wellness and recovery.
With a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your doctor, you will be able to access the following:
The cost of a psychology consultation (50 minutes) is $201.50 which is payable at the time of your appointment. A Medicare rebate can be provided for this service of $126.50

A total cost of $151.35 is payable at the time of the appointment. A Medicare rebate of $86.15 is available.
There is no Medicare rebate for services provided by a Provisional Psychologist. Our Provisionals are highly skilled registered practitioners currently in their practical period of post tertiary education. Provisionals at Healthwise are specifically chosen for their demonstrable skills and abilities and all their clients are overseen by our Clinical Psychologist. Fee per session $75 (no rebate)
With the presentation of a valid DVA Health Card, an individual can access a clinical psychologist without a fee. HealthWise Queensland will invoice the Department of Veteran Affairs on your behalf. A referral from your GP is required.
